Electrical equipment package "BARS" for modernization of VL11M, VL11 / 8 electric locomotives.

 

Purpose

 

For installation in VL11M, VL11 / 8 electric locomotives instead of the automation unit of SAURT-034 automatic regenerative braking control system, the armature current sensor (CS1), the field current sensor (CS2), the voltage sensor (VS), the current / speed setting device (CSSD) during repair and restoration work.

SCU is designed to:

  • form pulse signals, the frequency of which is proportional to the rotational speed of the wheelset of electric locomotive;
  • form an information message about the current speed of electric locomotive

 

MDU is designed to:

  • control the speed of the traction motors cooling fan in the automatic mode, depending on the temperature of cooling air at the output from the traction motors;
  • display service information in the motor mode;
  • display the current information in the regenerative braking mode;
  • input of information necessary for electrical equipment "BARS" operation;
  • display and save information about the current failures;
  • display information from the other section (on request)

 

TCU is designed to work with TC.

 

TCU provides the following functions:

  • formation of TC voltage supply 
  • processing of information from TC
  • analysis of TC serviceability
  • formation of information massage for MDU about the current output air temperature of traction motors, outer air and TC serviceability
  • display of availability of power supply and TC serviceability
  • ensuring redundant power supply of SCU, MDU, TCU for both sections

 

PS24 is designed to work with SCU, MDU, TCU.

 

PS24 provides the following functions:

  • output voltage stabilization at the level, V : 24±1,2 %;
  • output short circuit protection;
  • reverse voltage polarity protection
  • input /output over-voltage protection

 

 

“IRBIS” unit is designed for:

  • automatic control of electrical parameters of traction motors when switching to recovery;
  • automatic control of electrical parameters of traction motors in the regenerative braking mode;
  • speed limit of electric locomotive on down grade
  • generation of signals to the execution sand filling unit
  • formation of control action to the field winding of cross-field exciter in the regenerative braking mode

 

“IRBIS” provides:

  • automatic translation of electric locomotive from the coasting mode to the recovery mode
  • regulation of recovery current and speed of electric locomotive keeping restrictions on the maximum allowable voltage in the contact system and commutation conditions (correlation of armature current and field current) 
  • wheelset sliding protection by automatic braking force reduction receiving signal from antiwheelspin protection

 

Current sensor is designed to convert current input signal to level signal proportional to the input current in the recovery mode.

 

Voltage control unit (VCU) is designed to convert current signal level into level signal proportional to the input voltage in the recovery mode.
